Exterior & Interior Design Differences
The Suburban is larger than the Tahoe, but how much larger is it? We’ll compare the dimensions of each SUV’s base trim level below.
Chevy Tahoe vs. Suburban Size Difference
| 2026 Chevy Tahoe LS | 2026 Chevy Suburban LS | |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 211.3 inches | 226.3 inches |
| Width (without mirrors) | 81 inches | 81 inches |
| Height | 75.8 inches | 75.7 inches |
| Wheelbase | 120.9 inches | 134.1 inches |
| Cargo Volume to Seat 1 | 122.7 cubic feet | 144.5 cubic feet |
| Cargo Volume to Seat 2 | 72.5 cubic feet | 93.8 cubic feet |
| Cargo Volume to Seat 3 | 25.5 cubic feet | 41.5 cubic feet |
| Legroom (front/second/third row) | 44.5/42/34.9 inches | 44.5/42/36.7 inches |
| Headroom (front/second/third row) | 42.3/38.9/38.2 inches | 42.3/38.9/38.2 inches |
Both of the base trim levels offer the same headroom and nearly the same legroom — third-row passengers in the Suburban will get almost two more inches of legroom than they will in the Tahoe. And when it comes to cargo space, the Suburban scores a major win. Width is the same for both models, and height is nearly the same, but there’s a 15-inch difference when it comes to length — something to keep in mind when it comes to future parking.
Whether you choose the Tahoe or Suburban, you can seat up to eight passengers in all of the trim levels, except for the top two trim levels, which seat up to seven passengers. But if you want even more seats, you can get a total of nine in the LS trim level when you add the available front bench seat.
Either way, both SUVs provide exceptional comfort in the form of available features like leather-appointed seating surfaces, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated driver and front passenger seats, and heated second-row outboard seats. Add an available panoramic power sunroof to enhance your travels even more.
You’ll also get standard tri-zone automatic climate control in either SUV, which makes it easier to keep everyone comfortable. Conveniences like an available power-sliding center console, which can slide back up to 10 inches, lets you fit bulky items between the front seats, making the cabin even more versatile.
Performance, Engine Options & Towing Capability
In terms of performance, these two SUVs have a lot in common. No matter if you choose the Tahoe or the Suburban, you can take your pick from the following three powerful engines:

- 5.3L EcoTec3 V8: 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque
- 6.2L EcoTec3 V8: 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque
A 10-speed automatic transmission comes standard, and both SUVs can tow when properly equipped. Trailering features for both SUVs include an available integrated trailer brake controller, standard trailer sway control, a standard trailering hitch platform, a 2-inch trailering receiver, and a 7-wire electrical harness and 7-pin connector, which allows you to connect the trailer's lights and brakes to the SUV.
