Chevrolet Colorado

The Chevrolet Colorado is known as a sensible midsize truck that carries what you need and gets you around town. Chevy unveiled the all-new 2023 Colorado in the summer of 2022, revealing a heavier, more rugged generation for the Colorado.

The new Chevy Colorado will bring greater towing capacity, updated technology, and a new look to the road. Read on to learn more about the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado.

2022 vs. 2023 Chevrolet Colorado: What’s New?

Drivers of the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado will notice a larger body and wider wheelbase in addition to a heavier weight than the 2022 model. With all of this, an upgraded interior, and a new powertrain, the 2023 Chevy Colorado boasts a stylish, comfortable ride with better performance than ever before.

Compared to the 2022 Colorado, you’ll enjoy three extra inches in the wheelbase, two inches in width – including the front and rear track, and almost 10 inches in height. The Colorado’s 2023 makeover may remind you of the Silverado for good reason.

The all-new Chevy Colorado comes with two 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine options: The new Turbo Plus puts out 310 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, and the Turbo High Output options puts out 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, both more than past Colorado trim levels. Plus, with this power and performance, you’ll get up to 7,700 pounds of towing capacity.

Five Available Drive Modes
The 2023 Chevy Colorado comes in five available drive modes, perfect for drivers to pick the best options for their needs.

  • Normal: The normal drive mode is for your everyday driving. This default mode optimizes your normal, around town trips.
  • Off-Road: The off-road drive mode helps give you more traction when you need it on loose surfaces, such as gravel, snow, mud, or grass.
  • Terrain: The terrain drive mode is perfect for those who enjoy taking their truck up steep hills or over obstacles. You’ll also have the advantage of enhanced climbing control with automatic brakes.
  • Baja: The Baja drive mode is exclusive to the ZR2 trim level and optimizes traction control, stability, and power delivery when driving through sandy terrain.
  • Tow/Haul: The tow/haul drive mode optimizes your Colorado’s performance when you’re towing or hauling heavy cargo.

Standout Exterior Design
The 2023 Chevy Colorado is more stylish and distinctive than the previous model, with a modern exterior design that will turn heads on the road. From the rear, you might think it’s still an unremarkable midsize pickup truck, but as you take in the new body style and make your way around to the front, you’ll see it’s truly received a remarkable makeover.

The 2023 Colorado comes in five impressive trim levels, one for every lifestyle. In 2023, Chevy is introducing the first-ever Colorado Trail Boss trim package, the all-new ZR2, and the new Desert Boss Special Edition. Each of the trim levels offer a more capable Colorado than ever before.

Couple Neat Features
The 2023 Colorado has quite a few neat features that are new to this generation of Chevy, making this year’s model a standout compared to last year’s.

The Stowflex Tailgate provides a lockable storage compartment that’s built right into the tailgate. This compartment can be used for storing tools, equipment, and more. Plus, it has a drain so it can be utilized as a cooler.

The tailgate also has a built-in measurement tool, and it comes standard with eight fixed tie-downs and an available 17 tied-downs to make sure whatever you’re carrying stays secure.

Technology Upgrades and Safety Features

The all-new Chevrolet Colorado is equipped with the latest technology and safety features. The 2023 Colorado comes with the Off-Road Performance Display that helps you monitor the performance of your truck in real time with a G-Force meter, 3D pitch and roll, an altimeter, and so much more, all viewed on the built-in displays.

In addition to the Off-Road Performance Display, you’ll also be able to stay connected with the fully digital Driver Information Center, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, available Google built-in, and a wireless pad big enough to charge you and your passengers’ devices.

You’ll have a nearly 360-degree view around your vehicle with 10 available camera views to help you safely navigate the road. The underbody cameras provide a forward- and rear-facing view beneath your truck, so you can tackle tough terrain safely.

The 2023 Colorado also comes with Safety Alert Seat that uses seat vibration pulses to assist in identifying the direction of potential crashes to help you react quickly for your safety. This also comes with the ability to switch from vibrations to beeping crash avoidance alerts.

With Chevy, you’ll have the advantage of OnStar Safety and an advisor ready to help you at any given time. OnStar is there for you in any crisis or emergency, including an accident or recovering a stolen vehicle.

The 2023 Chevy Colorado comes with reliable safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, plus much more. No matter who is driving, your Colorado will be equipped to keep you safe.

The Colorado’s Teen Driver feature provides customizable settings associated with a specific key fob to encourage better driving behaviors when your teen is in the driver’s seat. Certain features can be turned off or limited, and it can automatically turn on safety features or systems.

Interior Seating
The Chevy Colorado’s makeover doesn’t stop on the exterior. The truck’s all-new interior design includes a new center console, accessible cupholders, a gauge cluster, infotainment screen, and an elegantly designed steering wheel.

The interior design is upscale, modern, and more closely resembles the interior of a sedan than a truck. The interior is roomy and upholstered with soft, durable, quality material. It even comes with an optional sunroof, enhancing the thrill of your drive.

Drivers and front-seat passengers will enjoy 40.3 inches of headroom and 45.2 inches of legroom. In the back seat, passengers can stretch out with 34.7 inches of legroom and 38.2 inches of headroom. After a long day, you’ll be able to stretch your legs and ride home in comfort.
