Chevy Unveils 2023 Silverado ZR2 Bison Off-Roader

A new Silverado ZR2 model will stampede onto the scene this summer – more untamed and rugged than any to come before it. Rumored to have incredible off-road capabilities, the 2023 Silverado ZR2 Bison is equipped for adventure. Chevy worked alongside American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) to design this model, much like it did with the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison.

Rugged Design 

Chevrolet has been teasing drivers, revealing a few hints about the Bison’s design in videos like this one. While the specs haven’t been confirmed, the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison is expected to be very similar to the Colorado version. AEV is renowned for crafting some of the sturdiest off-road vehicles, making them the ideal partner for a brand that has also built quite a reputation for ruggedness.

The 2023 Silverado ZR2 Bison is expected to feature:

• Bison specific lights
• Strong underbody protection with perforated plates  
• American Expedition Vehicles wheels 
• Silverado’s Multi-Flex tailgate
• More technical terrain capabilities

Like the Silverado ZR2, the Bison will most likely come standard with a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine, 10-speed automatic transmission and 4×4 system with lockable differentials.

The Bison is ready to roam, equipped to tackle any terrain thanks to these anticipated features:

• Fender flares
• Five hot-stamped boron steel skid plates 
• AEV steel front and rear bumpers
• AEV exclusive wheels
• Tubular armor built into the bed corners
• Attachment points for fog lamps and a winch 
• Stamped steel face front bumper
• Rear recovery points
